Mingus Mountain Academy - East Don Carlos Drive

The Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center is a Behavioral Health Inpatient Facility (BHIF) in Prescott Valley, Arizona. It helps 12–17-year-old girls who are having problems with their mental health or drug abuse. The center helps young girls get through recovery by offering complete programs that are tailored to their gender and cover both mental health and drug use issues. Teenagers can heal and learn the skills they need to get back into their communities at Mingus Mountain, which provides a safe and caring setting. 
 
There are different kinds of care at the facility, like an inpatient residential treatment program, therapeutic group homes, and equine therapy. Support for education is also very important, and there are GED and college prep programs offered. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), activity therapy, and family therapy are all important parts of their method. The Sanctuary ModelTM, which stresses a trauma-informed culture, has been used at Mingus Mountain and is known for its trauma-responsive care. The center also has a scholarship program to help girls continue their studies and training for jobs after treatment. Mingus Mountain makes sure that high levels of care and safety are met because it is accredited by The Joint Commission.
